Visit The Spiral House: Zine Stacks & Button (mines) Factory

The Spiral House is more than just a shop—it is our home and the creative engine behind Portland Button Works. It is a residentially and commercially zoned space in North Portland where we live, manufacture buttons, and manage a global zine distribution hub.

We love opening our doors to the community, but because this is our private residence and a high-volume workspace, visits are strictly by appointment only.

What to Expect

When you visit, you aren't walking into a traditional retail storefront. You are entering a "live-work" environment.

• The Atmosphere: The main room is a fully operational shipping facility and button factory. You’ll be surrounded by walls of zines, stacks of books, and the machinery we use to press every order.

• Browsing: You are welcome to explore our extensive collection of zines and DIY resources in the heart of where they are made.

Accessibility Note

We want everyone to feel welcome and prepared for their visit. Please note that entering The Spiral House requires navigating two steps up to the porch. Once inside, the browsing area is on a single level, but it is a working facility with packing materials and machinery throughout the space.
