The book is a tribute to the traditions, history, and resilience of Mexican American culture, and the magic that can be found when the two intersect.

As someone who is not part of this culture or practice, I have a deep appreciation for learning about other cultures and practices. This helps me better understand the lives of my friends and neighbors, both magical and non-magical. Reading this book is like having a conversation with a friend and listening to their stories.
